Sebastian Sussmann

CIO & Chief AI Officer

I think AI will not replace a software developer, but will replace a software developer who is not using AI

About Sebastian

In their own words.

Sebastian Sussmann is an agile practitioner, technology leader, and trainer with 16+ years building and coaching software teams across Vietnam and Europe — in every Scrum role, from developer to Scrum Master, Product Owner, and CIO. As CIO and Chief AI Officer at Axon Active, a Swiss-owned, ISO 27001-certified software engineering company serving clients worldwide, he runs distributed delivery teams and leads the company’s shift into AI-augmented engineering.

Sebastian’s work centres on responsible AI in software delivery — building responsible-use frameworks, AI skills assessments, and EU AI Act-aligned engineering practices now running across 650+ engineers. He also brings supporting expertise in GHG accounting and ESG supply-chain reporting and in information security management (ISMS), reflecting the converging governance demands clients face today.

A Scrum Ambassador and Scrum Ambassadors Licensed Trainer (SA-LT), he co-founded Scrum Breakfast Da Nang & Ho Chi Minh City — one of Vietnam’s largest agile communities — coaches agile at universities across Vietnam and Europe, and speaks regularly at international conferences, most recently a 2026 keynote on how AI is reshaping engineering teams. He is also a member of the Agile Executives.
